Donna's Costa Rica Experience

I've been to Costa Rica. The rainforests and the volcanos are awesome. The Atlantic coast is a great place where the endangered turtles come ashore to lay eggs...The best thing about Costa Rica is the animals -- howler monkeys, toucans, iguanas basking at the tops of the trees and the rainforests are beautiful. Try to see the country if you can. The Cloud Forest is an area that is bathed in fog. And the volcanos are awesome. A lot of areas now have the canopy tours where you glide from tree to tree on zip-lines. That is so much fun. Costa Rica is also a relatively safe country, unlike Africa, which can be scary sometimes...Just watch what you eat there -- some of the chicken, etc. isn't always cooked through. And drink a lot of bottled water -- brush your teeth will bottled water too. If you are going to be in the rainforest a lot you may want to check out your local health department or doctor about getting some malaria pills. They do not have all the strains of malaria Africa has but they do have some.
